Fell For Fall

Eng: So it’s December 1st and I casually decided to post a cozy fall outfit. It works for the winter too, trust me: that jacket is so fluffy that will keep you warm even after the first fall of the snowflakes. It’s literally gonna protect you from the biggest piles of fallen leaves, or from the meanest monsters of snow, or from the worst of the worstest: boys who wanna show their masculinity by throwing you in the snow and smashing it in your face until your make-up shapes your crying face onto the pile of snow. Well… not really, but in combination with these boots, you’re totally going to survive, because they are so comfy that you’ll be able to run! Especially if you’re a fit lady who’s always in shape and goes to the gym regularly (unlike me). If you’re not, don’t worry, the bright yellow sweater is going to make signals when you’re in danger and somebody’ll show up to save you. Eventually.

Did I mention that my favorite season is autumn? Yep, you heard it right, the rumours are true: I fell for fall. Fall is like just the right amount of summer and winter blended together, but no snow or burning sun whatsoever. Isn’t that just perfect? It’s a bit cold, a bit too suitable for layers and a bit too suitable for warm tea; or hot coffee (depends on what you depend on, haha).

 

Ro: Astăzi este 1 decembrie, aşa că de ce să nu postez un outfit de toamnă? Merge şi iarna, crede-mă: jacheta asta e atât de pufoasă încât o să-ţi ţină de cald chiar şi după ce cad primii fulgi de nea. Te protejează nu numai de grămezile alea mari de frunze uscate de toamnă sau de cei mai înfricoşători monştri de nea, ci şi de ce-i mai rău: băieţi care vor să-şi demonstreze masculinitatea aruncându-te în zăpadă şi lovindu-te brutal cu bulgări până machiajul îţi pictează faţa plânsă-n zăpadă. Sau.. poate nu chiar aşa, dar dacă o combini cu bocancii ăştia, sigur supravieţuieşti, pentru că sunt atât de comozi încât vei reuşi dacă alergi! Mai ales dacă eşti mereu în formă şi mergi regulat la sală (nu ca mine). Dacă nu, stai liniştită, puloverul ăsta galben face semnale atât de luminoase când eşti în pericol încât cineva sigur te va vedea şi îţi va sări în ajutor. Într-un final.

Am mai spus cumva că toamna e anotimpul meu preferat? Da, ai citit bine, m-am îndrăgostit de ea. Toamna e ca şi combinaţia perfectă dintre vară şi iarnă, doar că fără zăpadă sau caniculă. Puţin cam frig, dar puţin cam prea potrivit pentru o cana de ceai cald; sau o cafea fierbinte (depinde de ce depinzi, haha).

Blues and Camel

Eng: Ever thought about blue and camel?
And by this, I don’t mean the cigarettes, but the combination of colors. I find this combination to be the perfect link between the fall and the spring, ’cause it can be worn during any of these two seasons and still be comfortable enough. And trust me, it is more comfy than it looks. When I was in highschool, I had a thing: no matter what, never wear the same outfit. Only separate pieces reincorporated, but never the same whole from head to toe. If it was the case, I would wear all the items in the closet once and after I’ve worn all of them, I’d just start again. (And I had plenty, so I would just wear an item twice a year.)  Now, I would rather wear this outfit during the springtime, as the soft blues and floral prints show. The dark blue blazer  is enough if the weather is rather windy, but if the sky is cloudy, then the coat is just cozy enough. And then, just as I would do in highschool, I would wear this one again in the autumn. (In this case, the coat is necessarily on, ’cause I’m getting cold really easy.)

Ro: Te-ai gândit vreodată la combinaţia de culori albastru cu maroniul ăsta deschis, aşa numitul camel?
Mie mi se pare că leagă foarte bine toamna de primăvară, fiindcă o poţi purta în ambele anotimpuri şi, totuşi, să fie la fel de lejer. Şi chiar este mai lejer decât pare. Când eram la liceu, aveam o obsesie: să nu port niciodată un outfit de mai multe ori. Poate doar piese separate, dar nu şi outfituri întregi. După caz, purtam fiecare piesă din dulap o singură dată, şi abia după ce terminam cu toate o luam de la capăt. (Şi aveam destul de multe, aşa că ajungeam să port o piesă de vreo 2-3 ori pe an.) Cât despre fotografii, aş purta acest outfit mai degrabă primăvara, după cum arată şi nuanţele de albastru cu printul floral. Sacoul albastru e de ajuns dacă vremea însorită este însoţită de o briză uşoară, însă un cer înnorat cere şi paltonaşul călduros. Şi apoi, exact cum aş face dacă aş mai fi în liceu, aş purta acest outfit din nou abia în toamnă,  neapărat cu tot cu palton, căci sunt o persoană foarte friguroasă.

Marble Madness

Eng: I’m sure we all know that black and white is a combination that never fails on the Fashion Week streets, but the key of this outfit is actually layering. Black and white can be sometimes boring, unless one really knows how many layers they need and which ones fit better; if there’s a print involved as well, then it’s even better. Especially if we’re talking about marble, which is one of my favorites. What about mixing textures? Wool, leather, chiffon, and the tights are a bonus. Except for the situation when it’s freaking winter and you’re freezing af. In that situation, be smarter than the fashion trends you’re trying to keep up with, and you better go for a cozy sweater and a fluffy coat. You don’t wanna catch a cold while posing out, just like I did a few weeks ago for this photoshoot, and totally regreted it the following day. Also, make sure it’s worth it. And by this I mean that a random photographer-amateur who just approached you and offered to take some shots of you won’t suddenly decide that you don’t even deserve to get the pictures in high quality for God knows what reason; because in the end all you have is a bunch of horrible badly framed low quality poorly edited pictures and a ruthless cold. And this is the story behind these photos, so don’t judge me for their quality (I’ve tried a retouch here and there though); I’m too stubborn to keep them for myself only, especially ’cause I really loved this outfit and I had to post it up. Nevertheless, I thought this would be a funny story to share with you, as personal as it may sound.

P.S.: I ended up on the block-list of the so called photographer after asking for the high quality pictures and I have no regrets. I’m not going to give out his name, but if you’re curious, I may tell you in private. xo

Ro: Cu toţii ştim, desigur, că alb-negru este combinaţie ce nu dă greş niciodată pe marile străzi din Paris sau Londra, dar secretul aici este, de fapt, să porţi cât mai multe straturi. Alb şi negru poate fi uneori cam plictisitor, mai puţin atunci când ştii câte straturi să porţi şi ce anume să alegi ca să se potrivească; dacă mai intervine şi un print, e perfect! (În special dacă e vorba de marble, care este unul dintre preferatele mele. Cât despre texturi: lână, piele, şifon, iar dresurile sunt un bonus. Mai puţin dacă e mijlocul iernii şi eşti o persoană friguroasă, ca mine. În cazul ăsta, fii cu un pas înaintea trendurilor pe care încerci să le urmăreşti şi alege un pulover călduros şi un mantou pufos. Doar nu vrei să răceşti din cauza unei şedinţe foto, cum mi s-a întâmplat mie acum câteva săptămâni, ca apoi să regret instant. Important e să merite. Şi cu asta vreau să spun că ar trebui să te asiguri mai întâi că, dacă un amator care se dă drept fotograf te abordează şi se oferă să-ţi facă poze, nu va decide subit că tu nici măcar nu primeşti pozele la cea mai bună calitate; pentru că, la final te trezeşti că te-ai ales doar cu nişte poze prost editate, foarte prost încadrate, la cea mai slabă calitate şi o răceală cruntă. Şi cam asta e povestea din spatele acestor fotografii, dar nici nu intră în discuţie să nu le postez (am încercat să le mai modific eu puţin pe ici-colo); mi-a plăcut prea mult outfitul ca să-l ţin doar pentru mine. În orice caz, mi s-a părut o poveste amuzantă, chiar dacă e mai personală.
P.S.: Până la urmă am ajuns să am locul de onoare pe lista lui de persoane blocate pe facebook, însă ar fi ultimul lucru de care îmi pasă. Nu îi voi da numele public, însă dacă sunteţi curioşi, mă puteţi întreba în privat. xo

Le Smoking

 

 

ENG: Time flies, trends come and go; yet there’s one thing we know for sure: the so called “smoking” will never die.

Ever since the day Yves Saint Laurent came up with the innovative brilliant idea of dressing up a woman in a suit, which was considered inappropriate at those times, in 1966, many fashion icons chose Laurent’s tuxedo. Celebrities like Jessica Alba, Emma Watson or Cara Delevingne hit the Red Carpet events wearing a black suit and still many celebs prefer it over the gold glam gown. And so would I. And not even for a glam event. I think that the smoking, teamed up with the so well-known red lipstick, is an interesting alternative of the feminine Little Black Dress, perfect for stealing the spotlight, or a day at work, or even going for a brunch. As far as I am concerned, I decided to take it with me for a walk downtown and wander the streets along with the gorgeous and talented Aniela Rusu, who took this shots of me and my suit. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed the time with her.

RO: Timpul zboară, iar trendurile vin şi pleacă; totuşi, un lucru ştim sigur: aşa-numitul “smoking” va fi mereu în vogă.
Chiar din ziua în care Yves Saint Laurent a venit cu inovaţia de a îmbrăca  o femeie într-un costum bărbătesc, ceea ce era considerat indecent pe atunci, în 1966, multe persoane importante din industria modei au ales fracul lui Laurent. Vedete precum Jessica Alba, Emma Watson sau Cara Delevingne au păşit pe covorul roşu purtând un costum negru şi încă multe altele îl preferă în favoarea rochiei sclipitoare de gală. La fel şi eu. Şi nu doar pentru cine ştie ce eveniment. Cred că smoking-ul acesta, alături de nelipsitul ruj roşu, este mai degrabă o alternativa interesantă a trendului feminin “Little Black Dress”, este perfect pentru a sclipi în lumina reflectoarelor, sau pentru o zi obişnuită la birou, sau chiar când iei masa în oraş. În ceea ce mă priveşte pe mine, am decis să-mi scot costumul negru la plimbare şi să mă pierd printre străzi alături de superba şi talentata Aniela Rusu, care ne-a făcut pozele astea geniale mie şi fracului meu. Sper să vă placă pozele la fel de mult cât mi-a plăcut mie compania ei.

//striped trip

Deci staţi să vă zic.
Am început un nou serial (White Collar, ştiu, n-am idee de ce nu l-am văzut până acum, recomand) şi, în timp ce admiram splendoarea lui Matt Bomer făcând pe smartass-ul la sfârşitul primului sezon (pentru că minim un sezon pe zi is how you do it), am pus pauză şi brusc mi-am zis că vreau să scriu. Aşa că hai să scriu. Că doar n-am scris de mult. Dar despre ce? Nu ziceam eu că vreau să mai scriu ceva pe blog? Aaa, da, ce blog? Mai există? Păi să vedeţi, că doar am primit întrebarea ”Cum mai merge cu blogul?” de la ultimul meu articol până acum prea des ca să-mi pot aminti. Cât a trecut de atunci? Cică 5 luni. Vreun regret? Absolut niciunul.
Acuma ce s-a întâmplat în aceste 5 luni urmează să vă povestesc. Şi nu numai. Am să vă povestesc ce s-a întâmplat în ultimul an din viaţa mea. Luna trecută am împlinit 19 ani, toate bune şi frumoase, tot luna trecută s-a împlinit un an de când acest blog există. La mulţi ani, Annvenue! Cu cinste cu tot!

Păi o să încep prin a spune că ultimul an din viaţa mea a fost destul de palpitant. Am cunoscut o grămaaadă de oameni. N-aş zice că mi-am făcut prea mulţi prieteni pe bune, dar aş zice că sunt recunoscătoare pentru fiecare persoană pe care am întâlnit-o în această perioadă. De ce? Păi, în mare parte, majoritatea a venit să-mi plesnească obrazul şi să mă-nveţe o lecţie bună pe care poate trebuia s-o ştiu de mult. E ok, am păstrat lecţiile, oamenii nu. Adică dacă ei nu vor să stea în viaţa mea, de ce să-i oblig eu? Eu sunt dispusă să ofer tot ce am de oferit, atâta timp cât persoana respectivă a înţeles cât valorez. Şi valorez mai mult decât nişte poze fancy pe facebook şi o pagină de wordpress pe care, mai nou, îmi dau cu părerea. Ce-ţi mai e şi cu reţelele astea de social media? Sincer, motivul pentru care am un blog pe care-mi postez hainele e pentru că am câteva idei şi vreau să le-mpart cu restul populaţiei feminine care caută cu disperare noi surse de inspiraţie. Când eşti femeie e greu. Trebuie să ne zbatem zi de zi în faţa dulapului de fiecare dată înainte să ieşim din casă, să plângem, să amânăm întâlniri doar pentru că ”nu avem cu ce să ne îmbrăcăm”, deşi chiar ieri ne-am achiziţionat o jumătate de colecţie la reducere, şi să ne gândim cu 3 luni înainte de un majorat cu ce pantofi merge rochia. Chiar dacă încă nu ştim ce rochie. Şi plângem iar. Mai des decât plângem pentru luceferi.
Mă-ntreabă lumea de facultate. Limbile străine sunt superbe, mai puţin atunci când ai ales facultatea asta gândindu-te că o să ai un job bun după ce o termini, dar fără să te gândeşti că la un moment dat ţi se pune pata şi poate nici n-ajungi până acolo. Nu-i uşor nicăieri. Dacă vrei să-ţi continui studiile, ai de tras tare, de petrecut nopţi citind Shakespeare şi alţi clasici, chiar dacă nu ai energia necesară pentru asta, dar ai avea pentru un rooftop party subit. Iar dacă faci alegerea greşită, de party regreţi doar a doua zi, de facultate puţin mai mult.

N-am uitat de outfit. Port un tricou în dungi de la Romwe, că nu ştiu dacă scap vreodată de obsesia mea pentru dungi. Aşa că am şi pantalonii în dungi. De la Bershka, via Kurtmann. Botinele-s din H&M, iar rucsacul din New Yorker. Ochelarii de hipsteriţă sunt cadou de la un hipster drag, nu mă-ntrebaţi de brand. N-am idee. Ştiu doar că îmi plac.

\\begin by letting go

ENG: I’m an all-black person most of the time when it comes to outfits, but let’s say that this time I’ve tried to do something new, something different, to make an exception and add a pop of colour. A blue one. I’d pictured this outfit in my head ever since I’d first found this blue leather jacket, simply because I was inspired by the looks I’ve seen at the Fashion Week. The Street Style session is my favorite part and I’m always excited about it and about finding new ideas.

The day we shot this was a total war with the weather. I know you can’t really tell by seeing the pictures, but let me tell you that we had to struggle constantly. Not only that we got lost between the streets at some point, but the wind wouldn’t stop for a second either. It was warm and sunny outside when we left in the morning, but as soon as we got out of the train at the other side of the city, the wind was insane, and kept attacking my hair especially. You can almost tell how freezing I was. Almost.
Other than that, according to my religion, which is Catholicism, we’ve just celebrated Easter. Well, at least theoretically; I didn’t even have the chance to see my family because I had to spend the weekend studying. Happy Easter Holidays to all of you, who either have already celebrated it or will celebrate it soon. Value the time you spend with your family because it’s is one of the most important things we have in life as human beings; and you get to realize its importance after you become separated by thousands miles from them. Personal experiences.

 RO: De obicei ador să port doar haine de culoare neagră, dar de data asta chiar am vrut să încerc ceva nou. Am făcut o excepţie şi am adăugat şi o pată de culoare. Una albastră. Pentru că aveam deja imaginea outfitului în cap din momentul în care am găsit geaca albastră de piele. M-am inspirat din lookurile pe care le-am văzut la Fashion Weeks, chiar din Street Styles, care e partea mea preferată. Deşi nu se prea vede în poze, ziua aceea am fost terorizaţi de vremea de afară. Am plecat noi dimineaţa pe o vreme acceptabilă şi însorită, dar imediat ce am coborât din metrou pe partea cealaltă a oraşului, am fost izbiţi de un vânt incredibil. Nu-mi lăsa deloc părul în pace! Ca să nu mai zic că ne-am şi rătăcit la un moment dat…
În rest, numai de bine. Sunt de religie catolică, deci pentru mine tocmai a trecut Paştele. Cel puţin teoretic; nici măcar nu am reuşit să-mi văd familia, pentru că mi-am petrecut weekendul învăţând. Profit de ocazie să vă urez sărbători fericite tuturor celor care sărbătoresc fie acum, fie mai târziu, alături de cei dragi vouă. Să vă bucuraţi de timpul petrecut alături de familia voastră, pentru că este unul dintre cele mai importante lucruri pe care un om le poate avea în viaţă. Şi ajungeţi să vă daţi seama de importanţa acesteia abia după ce sunteţi la sute de kilometri distanţă. Vorbesc din propria experienţă.

//downtown velvet walker

ENG: As you may know, the army green colour is pretty much everywhere lately. There’s a whole military trend actually, which is illustrated mostly by Marc Jacobs‘ collections. Earth tones, browns, beige, nudes and greens are its specific colours. Style icon-celebrities are wearing army chic pieces, either in casual outfits or when attending Fashion Weeks, such as Chiara Ferragni, Rihanna or Olivia Palemo and I have to admit that this is one of my favorite trends too. Let’s talk about velvet, ’cause I think that at least one velvet item is a must-have in one’s closet. This blazer I’m wearing is a bit oversized by the shoulders, but I find it more than satisfying in the volumes’ game I was playing along with the large snake-printed clutch and the high-wasited loose pants. Besides that, I love details. Small details. Like the jeweled buttons of the blazer, the emerald-ish ring or the little metallic side strap by the belt of the pants.
Kurtmann.ro store has just put up in stock a lot of cute items you can shop, I’ve already chosen my favorites, so don’t forget to check out their blouses, that’s where I found my army chiffon blouse, and their pants, since I got mine from them. And I only recommend the companies whose products I am satisfied with, keep that in mind!

RO: Aţi observat şi voi că în ultimul timp trendul milităresc a prins amploare? Este cel mai des întâlnit în colecţiile lui Marc Jacobs. Culorile pâmântului, maro-uri, bej, culoarea nude şi verdele sunt culorile specifice acestui trend. Vedete care nu dezamăgesc în modă poartă astfel de piese, atât în outfiturile de zi cu zi, cât şi la Săptămâna Modei, vedete precum Chiara Ferragni, Rihanna sau Olivia Palermo, şi trebuie să recunosc că acest verde specific este una dintre culorile mele preferate. Cât despre catifea, consider că este important ca cel puţin o piesă vestimentară să fie prezentă în fiecare garderobă. Sacoul meu este puţin larg la umeri, dar îmi place mult jocul volumelor, alături de plicul cu print din piele de şarpe şi pantalonii cu talie înaltă. Eu ador detaliile mici, precum nasturii sacoului cu mici pietricele, inelul de smarald sau închizatoarea metalică a pantalonilor.
Kurtmann.ro tocmai a adus o mulţime de produse noi în stoc, aşa că mi-am şi făcut plinul. De acolo am camaşa şi pantalonii, puteţi să vedeţi şi voi aici mai multe cămăşi sau perechi de pantaloni. Mi se pare foarte important să recomand doar branduri ale căror produse m-au mulţumit.

ENG: Can we just take a moment to appreciate this combination of colours, please?
Spring is here and I’m super excited. Spring and autumn are my favorite seasons because, as we all know very well, the weather is not too hot nor too cold during these two; it’s somewhere in-between, just perfect. And that’s good when it comes to outfits ’cause I love layering. Camel coats are everywhere this season and I couldn’t help myself but get one as well. Also, turtlenecks are super trendy and I’m wearing a soft peachy one, over a white button-up shirt. Let me tell you about the white sneakers. Found them on Bonprix and fell in love with them in less than a second. The metallic-coppery side is a statement; that made me choose a shimmer eyeshadow, so I went for a more natural, soft make-up to suit my outfit. As you can see, my hair colour is not much different from the outfit colours as well, haha. But the truth is, lately I’ve been thinking a lot about changing the colour of my hair. Not sure which one yet though. What do you think? Shall I? And which one should I pick?

RO: A venit primvaaara şi mă super bucură. Primăvara şi toamna sunt preferatele mele, pentru că nu e nici prea cald, nici prea frig. E numai bine. Iar mie îmi place să port cât mai multe straturi de haine când aleg un outfit. Paltoanele camel sunt peste tot şi nu putea lipsi unul nici din garderoba mea. Bluzele cu gât de asemenea, aşa-numitele ”turtlenecks”, sunt super trendy şi am ales una de culoarea piersicii, dar mai pale, peste o cămaşă albă, simplă. Staţi să vă spun despre sneakerşii albi. I-am găsit pe Bonprix şi mi-au plăcut prea mult ca să nu-i am. Partea metalică în nuanţa cuprului m-a făcut să aleg un fard de ploape sidefat, aşa că am ales ca restul machiajului să fie mai natural, ceva luminos şi deschis care să meargă cu ţinuta aleasă. Că tot veni vorba, culoarea părului meu e şi ea destul de aproape de culorile din look, haha. Dar adevărul e că m-am tot gândit în ultimul timp să o schimb. Nu ştiu ce culoare să aleg totuşi, aşa că m-am gândit să vă întreb pe voi ce credeţi. Să o schimb sau să o las aşa? Şi dacă ar fi să o schimb, ce să aleg?

//lost somewhere between winter and spring

ENG: The weather is slowly warming up and I’m more than happy about it. I almost never wear skirts or dresses, but I couldn’t find something else to complete this outfit better, so I went for this tulle ruffle black skirt. Black and white never fail, right? There’s this cool online clothing store called Bonprix that I found lately and fell in love right away with many of their items actually, especially with this awesome white plain coat you can see in the pics; they got plenty bonprix coats that are even much cooler. They also got super bonprix boots, like the ones I’m wearing in the pictures, I simply love them.
Enjoy the pictures, while I’m enjoying the life after the finals. Thought that life after exams was only a myth, but apparently it’s real and it’s sweeter than anyhting.

RO: Vremea se încălzeşte şi sunt mai mult decât fericită să văd asta. Deşi nu prea port eu fuste sau rochii, nu ştiu ce mi-a venit de data asta, dar nu găseam nimic altceva care să meargă mai bine cu outftitul ăsta, aşa că am ales o fusta neagra din tull. Combinaţia de culori alb-negru nu dă greş niciodată. Am găsit site-ul ăsta drăguţ cu haine, şi anume Bonprix. Mi-au plăcut super multe produse din magazinul lor şi clar mi-a fost greu să aleg ceva, dar am decis până la urmă că trebuie să am paltonul alb din poze; au mai multe modele pe site. Mi-a mai plăcut la fel de mult şi perechea de botine pe care o port în fotografii.

Eng: Guess who just posed in the snow? Guess who just left the home not knowing where to go and found this cool place for a photoshoot? Guess who should be studying right now? Ya, right, it’s me. And I’m surrounded by exams. Since I have so much to study, here I am, finding excuses not to. I think I’ve used the study excuse for not posting too much and it’s time to use the post excuse for not studying. Oops!

Getting to more serious things, I found this new awesome clothing store you have to check out. The prices are just so convenient and there’s a lot of lovely items to buy. Sales are in full swing. I found the this amazing marsala cardigan you can see in the pictures, but there many more you can choose from HERE. RO: Ghiciţi cine a făcut poze în zăpadă? Sau cine a plecat de acasă fără să ştie unde să meargă şi a găsit locul ăsta super pentru poze? Sau cine ar trebui să înveţe acum? Oh, da.. eu… Şi sunt în plină sesiune. Din moment ce am atât de mult de învăţat, caut scuze să nu o fac. Cred că am folosit prea mult scuza cu studiatul ca să nu postez, aşa că e timpul să folosesc şi scuza cu postatul ca să nu învăţ. Ups!
